ABOUT
NATURE'S PLAYGROUND
An enjoyable drive south-east of Christchurch lays the Banks Peninsula, South Island's most exciting volcano feature. With endless hills, bays and hidden bush, this is Nature's Playground right on Christchurch's doorstep.
THE BEAUTIFUL TOWN OF AKAROA
Sheltered in one of the volcanic craters is the Akaroa Harbour and the stunning township of Akaroa.
What makes Akaroa so unique from the rest of New Zealand is it being the only French settlement in the country. The remnants of the French can be seen throughout the town, from the street name to the charming colonial cottages and architecture.
No matter what your interests, Akaroa has something you will enjoy. From outdoor activities and exploring to heritage and culture. Not to mention Akaroa is a foodies haven where you are spoilt for choice with local and award-winning bars, restaurants and produce.

MEET YOUR HOSTS
We are Brendon and Gail Woods, your hosts at Newton Heights.
We come from a farming background and moved to Akaroa fifteen years ago. Our home reflects our love of travel and the fun we had hunting for brocante in French markets. We are also passionate about classic cars, gardening, cooking and community involvement.
We cannot wait to have you stay with us!
